Questions, answered.

Is a publication or citation count enough?

Not on its own. The relevance, quality and context of evidence depend on the route, field and applicable assessment.

Can industry professionals qualify without an academic career?

Some talent routes address industry and professional achievement. The available pathway depends on the person’s actual record and intended activities.

Can confidential technical work be included?

The applicant and employer should agree what may be disclosed. Alternative evidence can be discussed with the professional adviser without exposing protected information.

Will WG write recommendations for referees to sign without review?

Supporting statements must reflect the author’s genuine knowledge and independent judgement. WG can coordinate requests and factual consistency; it does not invent endorsements.

Scope & professional responsibilities

Evidence must accurately identify individual work, sources and permissions. Employer confidentiality and intellectual-property obligations remain applicable.

The engagement sets out deliverables, responsibilities, third-party involvement, fees and milestones before work begins.
